Hello Furr Falcons! I am thrilled to be entering my first year at Furr Elementary as a school counselor. I am pleased to be serving students in Kindergarten, Second and Fourth grades this year. I have over 20 years of counseling and teaching experience and love to be around the joy and kindness young students bring into our lives daily As part of the Furr family I hope to have the opportunity to help our students, parents and staff have a successful and FUN school year!

My role as a counselor is to encourage each student to reach his or her maximum potential. This is achieved through counseling services provided such as individual counseling, small group counseling, and consultation with parents and teachers. Some of the small group counseling topics include divorce, behavior, feelings, and anger management.

I received my Bachelor’s degree from UNC-Charlotte in English and Journalism, my Master’s degree in School Counseling from UNC-Charlotte, and my Ph.D. in Counseling from UNC-Greensboro. I am from a military family but consider home right here in North Carolina!
